In September 2025, first responders from North Shore area towns participated in an active shooter drill
on the grounds of Gordon College in Wenham MA. Participating towns included Hamilton, Wenham, Manchester, Ipswich, Beverly and Essex. The drill was designed to simulate an actual mass shooting, to familiarize personnel with proper emergency procedures and to identify any inefficiencies/gaps in a coordinated response.
